Scripture Focus: Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV)
“Now to him who can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! " Amen.
Have you ever felt stuck—trapped in a situation, even when the sky above you is open and full of possibility? You can put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet, completely open at the top. Despite its strong wings, the buzzard won't fly away. Why? Because it needs a running start—about 10 to 12 feet—before it can take off. Without that space, it remains grounded, even when freedom is just above its head.
As Christians, we often live like the buzzard—held back not by true barriers, but by limited perspectives. We wrestle with life’s frustrations and wonder why things feel so heavy. The truth? Sometimes we forget to simply have faith that looks up.
I've heard it said that Sorrow looks back. Worry looks around.
But faith—faith looks up.
Today’s scripture from Ephesians 3:20-21 is a powerful reminder that God is able to do far more than we can ever ask or imagine. His power is already working within us. The problem isn’t God’s ability—it’s our focus.
Seeds of Thought
“God is able to do more than we ask or imagine.”→ What are you believing God for right now? Write it down—and then ask yourself, “What if He wants to do even more than this?”
“Limitations are often rooted in our perspective, not our reality.”→ Is there an area in your life where you’ve assumed you’re trapped? Could it be that you just need a new way of seeing it?
“Faith lifts us beyond the boundaries of our past.”→ How has your past shaped your expectations? Take a moment to speak faith over that area and declare that you’re no longer confined by it.
Sheaves of Grain
Think of an area in your life where you’ve felt stuck—where it seemed like there was no way forward. What would it look like to shift your focus upward and invite God’s power into that situation? Take a moment to imagine how He might lift you higher than you ever expected.
When we shift our gaze upward, toward the One who holds all power and purpose, we discover that the limitations we feel aren’t real at all—they’re just short runways we’ve mistaken for cages.
Let this be your encouragement today:Don’t stay stuck in a pen with no roof. Look up. Run forward in faith. And watch God lift you to places beyond your imagination.
