Great Purpose Belongs to Everyone

I was born with two deformed feet and had an experimental operation at McMasters University called a Lateral Release. My surgeons thought that they could straighten my feet but that I would spend my life wheelchair bound. 

My church, led by Rev. David Mainse held a contest and the prize was a bible that would be given by one of the first ever Protestant Missionaries to Africa, Rev. L. Aide. I was enchanted with the idea that I could win a prize given by someone who had travelled so far.

My mother arranged for me to go and give talks in the schools in the City of Hamilton, Ontario. I would share with people about my feet, the challenges I faced, the pain that Jesus had taken away as I lived with my feet in casts and how I believed that God healed me so I could walk.

I made a promise that if they supported me in winning the contest, I would prove God's power by walking to receive my Bible.

The day before the winner of the contest was announced, my Doctor gave me a new set of casts that had a rubber plug imbedded in the bottom. I learned how to walk that day.

On the eve of the contest when they announced me as the winner, I got up from my wheelchair and received my bible.  I was no longer wheelchair bound, God had healed me, by the age of 5 my casts were removed. My mother later told me that she would often tell people that I didn’t walk, I pranced, I skipped and I danced everywhere I went.

Rev. Mainse was launching a TV program for children called Circle Square.  He asked if I would be interested in speaking at the opening event held at the George R Robinson Randshell Amphitheatre. 

​This was very exciting for me, I felt honored to have a voice for Children.  I wanted other children to believe that with God, great things were possible for them too.
